An Overview of Anxiety & Depression
Understanding the Mind, Healing the Heart, Anchored in Christ
Anxiety and depression are among the most common and misunderstood mental health struggles in our world today. As Christians, we may find ourselves asking: Why am I feeling this way? Shouldn’t my faith make me stronger?
This course was created to bring clarity, compassion, and Christ-centered hope to these questions. Licensed Professional Counselor Julie Straseske and Pastor Titus Buelow walk side by side through five video modules that combine clinical insight with biblical truth. Together, they explore how our biology, psychology, and spirituality interact and how God’s promises bring comfort and healing even in the darkest seasons.
Through this series, you will learn:
-
The difference between normal emotions and clinical anxiety or depression
-
How the brain and body respond to stress and why these disorders are real, not simply a matter of “weak faith”
-
How faith and science work together in understanding mental health
-
What counseling looks like and when it might be helpful
-
Practical and spiritual ways to support loved ones who are struggling
